I watch the ripples change their size
But never leave the stream
Of warm impermanence
And so the days float through my eyes
But still the days seem the same
And these children that you spit on
As they try to change their worlds
Are immune to your consultations
They're quite aware of what they're goin' through

Lightning Strikes Twice

So, a little while back I did a post on the F-22 and I said there wasn't anything ready on the horizon. Well, I was wrong. Here's the F32 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter. Now I'm really jonesing for a Janes report. Now, to be fair, I think we have less than three prototypes flying around out there. Not exactly a big program (hell, I think the Osprey had 8 prototypes and it was only a Marine acquisition program). And it's heavy. Did we forget everything we learned about the F16 and F18 programs? Apparently.

Heh, heh, maybe they need to make that new Lightening a little more secure. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124027491029837401.html

Ken, well, to be fair, the F22 operating software was compromised years ago (part of Midnight Maze). And it's not the final software anyway. Although the specifications download could be devastating, but not by much. In the old days they had to do this through physical people, and it happened, now-a-days they can do it without having an agent on the group or a mole in the group. That's all that's changed. It's sort of like stealing people's money form fraud online. It's still fraud, same as the old offline kind, just being done through the internet these days.

But I will point out the Chinese Embassy claiming us pointing to their hacking (GhostNet) is "Cold War thinking" (on our part). Again, we are in a cold war with China. Cold War is economic, nuclear missiles pointed at each other is a tactic of the cold war, not the actual war.
