I watch the ripples change their size
But never leave the stream
Of warm impermanence
And so the days float through my eyes
But still the days seem the same
And these children that you spit on
As they try to change their worlds
Are immune to your consultations
They're quite aware of what they're goin' through

Linkee-poo skates through a Sunday

Robots being put to good use. Like getting close to predators feasting on their prey. Now this is a robotics technology I can get behind. (Grokked from phiala)

Oh, God says global warming is a hoax. Okay, great. Glad we have that settled now. But wait, considering God also told Bachmann and Perry to run for President, I'm not all that unsure that God isn't an unreliable narrator who is just fucking with us. (Grokked from Jay Lake)

Unions take a hard look at their strategy. Just in case you thought that Obama was giving everything to labor or that labor was doing all those horrible things the republican governors said they were doing. Part of the ongoing fight in labor about where to focus our resouces. (Grokked from thc1972)

In what comes as no news to those of us who live by the lakes, Great Lakes ice coverage falls 71% over 40 years (and that's not including this past year where I don't think Lake Erie, the shallowest of the lakes, failed to closed at all). So is that a bad thing? Only if you like to swim, want to avoid toxins in your fish, and just wait until you see the annual invasion of the Canadian Air Force this year. (Grokked from Jay Lake)

How bad is the US private insurance system? It's so bad people are upset their own countries may be about to imitate it. (Grokked from Jay Lake)

Rough week, huh?

The good news is someday Google will take over the government and things will be much better. They're new privacy policy tells us privacy is overvalued. It doesn't stop them from making money from our information, though. Hmm.

Maybe I'll go back to voting for Walt Disney. He may be dead, but he and his group made great cartoons!

Well, individual privacy is vastly overvalued to them. However, when grouped together all of our violated privacies have a specific monetary value. Of which Google is willing to give you good rates to purchase.
