I watch the ripples change their size
But never leave the stream
Of warm impermanence
And so the days float through my eyes
But still the days seem the same
And these children that you spit on
As they try to change their worlds
Are immune to your consultations
They're quite aware of what they're goin' through

Linkee-poo going up to the country, trying to get away

Have a great Labor Day folks. Don't forget to huge a union member if you enjoy having a long weekend. And for all my Russian friends, have a fabulous Monday.

"Police bodycam videos released during Wubbels' news conference showed the officer… growing increasingly impatient as she tried to explain, according to hospital protocol, why she couldn't draw an unconscious patient's blood for a police investigation." When she refused the officer arrested her (she was released and no charges were pressed). Dear officer, get a fucking warrant. It's not that hard. And yes, she has an excellent case and the city will probably end up paying her a lot of money. Yes, in the ER we work with various police departments. We are as accommodating as possible. But if you don't have a doctor's order, a warrant, or are placing the patient under arrest, the police are there at our discretion and you aren't getting your tests done (and yes, I've seen officers have to be reminded of this). You know the rules, officer.

"Saying that Kenya's recent national election that gave President Uhuru Kenyatta another term in office was held in an unconstitutional manner, the country's Supreme Court has annulled the results of the Aug. 8 vote. The surprising announcement prompted celebrations by opposition candidate Raila Odinga." Yeah, we don't have that function here.

"Jared Kushner, Donald Trump’s son-in-law and top adviser, wakes up each morning to a growing problem that will not go away. His family’s real estate business, Kushner Cos., owes hundreds of millions of dollars on a 41-story office building on Fifth Avenue. It has failed to secure foreign investors, despite an extensive search, and its resources are more limited than generally understood. As a result, the company faces significant challenges." I'm sure almost nearly $2b of debt that soon needs to be repaid is the farthest thing form Jared's mind as he works for the White House. (Grokked from Katheryn Cramer)

Dear Mr. President and Fox News, just give it up. "Do we know if this is true?… Well, we're looking into it." Pub-Lease. Hearsay presented as "news." Look, I know the GOP is all about the late nights before the due dates to get their term papers done (note 7 years of "we have a better plan to replace Obamacare" and then when they actually have the chance, then they try to figure it out… 7 years), but not all of us are wankers. Professionals sometimes develop communications ahead of time. For instance the NYTs has many obituaries written for people who are still alive. For a news story that reporters know will happen, they'll sometimes write the story and wait to add the particular details when the event happens. If you had a professional speech writer, you'd know how this works.

And the best twist to that EVAR… "One of President Donald Trump's most controversial advisers helped him draft a letter to FBI Director James Comey in May explaining why he was being fired, but the White House counsel thought the letter was problematic and ultimately blocked it from being sent… FBI special counsel Robert Mueller obtained the letter…" Man, there's an awful lot of shoes dropping. (Grokked from Matt Staggs)

"Forget President Trump’s problems within recalcitrant Republicans and oppositional Democrats. Now he’s facing a mob of menacing dinosaurs." Then the T-Rexes (T-Rexii?) come for you, you know you're doing something wrong. (Grokked form Marie Vibbert)
