Gilmour kinda slurs the line and they probably recorded the thing on four-track with almost more layers than that technology really allowed for. (Even on the official CD release of Relics and the remastered More, it's a little slurry.

-----
*For some fool reason, the Floyd never got around to doing an official Relics on CD until the mid-to-late '90s. So I ended up buying a bootleg version that, on the downside, had a botched rip of "Interstellar Overdrive", on the upside had a dozen "bonus tracks" pulled from the Zabriskie Point soundtrack and a bunch of other rarities. But it's the words, I've always known those as the words. So when I did a lyric check the other day, while listening, I was, "Gaze? Graze? WTF is graze?" (Like, "Brain and brain. What is Brain?")

Okay, now, if you can explain the difference between gold master, steel master, and remember when records were mono and not hi-fi, then we've got something.Steve Buchheithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12999709767641212586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19111384.post-59821782130714553202012-07-05T16:21:53.286-04:002012-07-05T16:21:53.286-04:00"Grasses and the graves"--you may know t..."Grasses and the graves"--you may know this already--is the official lyric per the 1995 CD remaster/reissue.

Does anyone know what a CD booklet is anymore? Will they in another five years? Raise your hand if you remember gatefold sleeves. (If you raised your hand, congratulations: you're old. If you didn't raise your hand, sorry: you really missed out on some really awesome album art.)Erichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18275812152895151542noreply@blogger.com
