See our cooking fires burning, Hollywood?

Vince, it would have to be a prequel, which I think I can see some story lines for that. A sequel would have to deal with answering lots of questions (how did Rachel and Decker turn out, is Decker a replicant, how long does Rachel have, etc).

Eric, yeah, Gaff is a fun character, especially when he leaves the giraffe/horse at the end. Although, I don't think you can get much better than Rutger Howard and, "Time to die." Hmm, I haven't seen Soldier.Steve Buchheithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12999709767641212586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19111384.post-44189168953838957962011-08-19T10:46:00.406-04:002011-08-19T10:46:00.406-04:00I am completely opposed to even the idea of Ridley...I am completely opposed to even the idea of Ridley Scott or anybody else making this film whether it's a sequel, prequel, remake or reboot--unless, that is, it's going to star Edward James Olmos and the entire thing is going to be about the monosyllabic, origami-obsessed Detective Gaff, in which case I am now this film's biggest fan/booster on the Interwebs. Because, (a) Edward James Olmos and (b) are you telling me you wouldn't watch a glitzy SF noir about a guy who pretty much does nothing but grunt, fold paper and shoot androids? Hell yeah you would, who wouldn't?

Anyway, for better or worse, a Blade Runner feature film sequel/prequel/spinoff has already been done: David Peoples, who wrote both screenplays, has insisted for years that Soldier was related to BR. So maybe the question for Mr. Ridley Scott is whether he wants to do a sequel/prequel to Soldier--and, yes, I know there are lots and lots of people who totally love that film for some reason I don't understand.Erichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18275812152895151542noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19111384.post-47942433604974952832011-08-18T22:40:12.704-04:002011-08-18T22:40:12.704-04:00There are a number of versions. From what I've read, the new movie (if it actually gets made) will be a prequel or sequel, but that better be one hell of a script, because I can't think of anything either could add to the original movie.vincehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16955307244053931069noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19111384.post-90499580685637461542011-08-18T22:12:35.861-04:002011-08-18T22:12:35.861-04:00Right with you on this.Right with you on this.Rickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14546882686381428986noreply@blogger.com
