Linkee-poo Wednesday Oct 27

Busy Steve is busy. I might be able to get to more later today, or I might not. Given how this morning has gone, it's anyone's guess. Back to the art mines.

"Archaeologists in Turkey have found evidence that an 11,000-year-old prehistoric site was used for a ceremonial parade through a building containing phallus-shaped pillars and a carving of a human head." The first man cave is discovered. (Grokked from Deborah Beale)

"Capitan has spent her entire life in Crownpoint, New Mexico, a small town on the eastern Navajo Nation, and is no stranger to the uranium mining that has persisted in the region for decades. But it was around the time the article was published that she began learning about the many risks associated with uranium mining… 'We as community members couldn’t just sit back and watch another company come in and just take what is very precious to us. And that is water – our water,' Capitan said." (Grokked from Xeni)
