I watch the ripples change their size
But never leave the stream
Of warm impermanence
And so the days float through my eyes
But still the days seem the same
And these children that you spit on
As they try to change their worlds
Are immune to your consultations
They're quite aware of what they're goin' through

Holiday Playlist - Christmas Bells

John Gorka's Christmas Bells. Reminds me of most of the aughts.

And in despair I bowed my head,
"There is no peace on earth," I said.
"For hate is strong
and mocks the song
of peace on earth, good-will to men."

Then pealed the bells more loud and deep,
"God is not dead, nor doth He sleep.
The Wrong shall fail,
the Right prevail
with peace on earth, good-will to men."
Some days, that's harder to believe in than Santa Claus.
