Linkee-poo clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right

Severely over scheduled at the day and night jobs. So things are going to be light for a while.

"The caterpillars can be easily spotted by their name-sake nose-to-tail processions, but their most dangerous feature is their coat of toxic hairs. Each caterpillar has approximately 62,000 of the white bristles. The hairs are full of a toxic protein called thaumetopoein, and they can be ejected if the caterpillar feels threatened. Thus, humans can be exposed by touching the caterpillars or being brushed by shed hairs swept up in the wind." Invasive species are a pain. (Grokked from Christopher Cornell)

"The Defense Department’s Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Program has demonstrated the Radio Frequency Vehicle Stopper, an experimental "direct energy weapon" that causes car and boats' electronic engine control units to enter into an endless cycle of rebooting, immobilizing the vehicles until the weapon is switched off… The weapon has a range of 50 meters and weighs 400 pounds, drawing on a 300kw gas-powered turbine for energy." The call it a "non-lethal" weapon. While microwaves are considered non-ionizing radiation, there has been documented cases of medical issues stemming for intense microwave radiation (mostly between microwave communications stations). And while they show cars and boats, imagine what would happen if this was deployed against close combat aircraft. And yes, copper based Faraday cages will probably be used to defeat this, so could using older non-computer controlled engines.

George Soros is controlling American Universities? Wait, squints at notes, nope. "Virginia’s largest public university granted the conservative Charles Koch Foundation a say in the hiring and firing of professors in exchange for millions of dollars in donations, according to newly released documents." Note here the Koch's (and several conservative think tanks they work with) "fund" the faculty positions. This is different than "endowing" a professorship/chair. (Grokked from Kathryn Cramer)
