Random strange thought. Google has a satellite. There are those mysterious barges. Multiple barges. Google is attempting to get into our heads with glass. They control a large percentage of search and how people obtain information. And now comes word that Google has been buying up robotics companies, including Boston Dynamic which is fielding the Big Dog (as well as other military robots).
Do no evil, my ass.
Google is Skynet.

Are you sure Google isn't the progenitor for The Borg?
(There's your Star Trek 3 pitch, right there. It turns out the Delta Quadrant is the Alpha Quadrant of the future, and The Borg are just Google after a thousand years of search optimization, social networking, and assorted lifestyle gadgets. "You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile," is shortened from "I want you to be assimilated into one of my G+ Circles! Why the futile resistance to switching over from Facebook?")
