This last week was just amazeballs, but in the opposite of real amazeballs. Rolling back EPA protections, questioning the Endangered Species Act as just too much extra regulation, callousness and stupidity about the California fires, GOP congressmen sex and financial scandals expanding, rumors that the suddenly called recess in the Manafort trial is because he's negotiating cooperation, Omarosa's book and recordings (some in the situation room)… JFC and then I was so overwhelmed with work I couldn't point to it all. Also, this week the alligators are still swarming. And this is the middle of August, which is supposed to be the slow news time.
"Boston Beer (NYSE: SAM) founder Jim Koch was one of 13 corporate executives who dined with President Donald Trump on Tuesday night at his New Jersey golf resort. And Koch used the opportunity to thank Trump for a tax cut that he said would help the company compete with foreign brewers." Whelp, I guess Sam Adams can do it without me (and yes, when I drink beer out IRL, I usually asked for Sam Adams). Good thing is that there are plenty of good beers out there now. But worst comes to worst, there's Pepsi (actually there are also great micro-sodas as well). I have a 24-pack in my garage right now (payment for covering a shift at the last moment for someone). I'm not sure what to do with it now. (Grokked from Teresa Nielsen Hayden)
"Aurora (CO) parents fighting to stop legally adopted 4-year-old daughter from being deported." Well, the adoption is legal in Peru and the parents are US citizens who adopted while they lived in Peru. (Grokked from Cherie Priest)
"You're making money, so what's the problem?" Jim Wright on the modern GOP morality. And in case you needed more evidence, the day after this posted the president retweets Huckleberries making the exact same argument.
