Apropos of Nothing

At work, the most recent 2-liter bottle of pop has lasted a week and a half. For some reason I'm proud of that.

Actually, that is a good accomplishment! I've tried a bunch of times to give up on soda, but never gone more than 2 months before starting back into it. Of course, my idea of drinking soda is a single glass every 2-3 days, but still I think if I cut that out of my diet, I'd be healthier. I don't do diet and the high fructose corn syrup cannot be good for me.

Hey! That's a great thing!

I've managed to switch my husband from soda to things like Izzy and Fuze--no HFCS and fruit juice.

Leaf, yeah, my doctor wants me to cut it out completely. And HFCS is very bad for you. But trying to get away from it is exceptionally hard, especially for anything prepared. It's about the only reason that I've considered ordering Dr. Pepper from Dublin, Tx (they produce batches with cane sugar).

Thanks Michelle. I did drink about a 2 liters worth this weekend though. It's the weekends that kill me. The good thing is that I'm back in the habit of drinking unsweetened tea.

I've looked at those other drinks, like here are the ingredients in Fruze. It may have been where I looked, but all the bottles had the "crystalline fructose" in the first few ingredients. That's basically High Fructose Syrup in crystal form. But I see some of the flavors don't have sugars as the first four ingredients. I'll have to see if I can get those. Thanks for making me look at them again.
