I'm getting older and the last few years the snow has been getting heavier. So we're breaking down and looking at snowblowers.
I have a paved driveway, two cars wide by about 70' long. I know I need a two stage (no so much for the paved, but for the width, length and snow depth), probably self propelled, electric start and a gas engine. But I'm not sure what other things I should be looking at, or if there are models I should avoid or definitely consider. Initial pricing makes me feel I'm in the $500-1000 range. I'm thinking 22 or 24" wide. Total length can only be 55" (for the space we have in the garage, summer storage isn't a problem).
So what say you?

A 12" wide electric model would satisfy my needs, so I'm no help at all.

Hey Nathan, well, if you're up in the wilds of the catskills for the next 6 months doing the shoot, you may have to get snowblowers. Also, I'm sure you've had to hire them before to clear out places (I'm remembering a post you did on a shoot involving a train). So even if they aren't for your personal use, I'm better you have had some experience with them. Although, maybe not at the consumer grade level.
Cassie, yeah, that's what the 55" requirement is. I have that space open in the garage (55x26). For Summer storage, I can put it in the shed and if it'll fit in the garage, it'll fit in the shed.

I go from my personal needs (12" electric) straight up to industrial/highway (8' wide mounted on a 10-ton truck). With jet propulsion.

I don't think I'm zoned for the later. Although, jet engine. Hmmmm. :)
