I watch the ripples change their size
But never leave the stream
Of warm impermanence
And so the days float through my eyes
But still the days seem the same
And these children that you spit on
As they try to change their worlds
Are immune to your consultations
They're quite aware of what they're goin' through

A New Pleasure

I'm also thinking about submitting The Dead Are Busy (see link on the right) to Hardboiled Horror. It's not completely hardboiled noir phantasmical, but it does have a detective and the supernatural.

But your detective is so...classy.

He definately does like to have nice things. He also doesn't like to have his clothes messed with. Although, he can kick butt.

I started another story (probably a novel's opening chapter) where he is hired to destroy a vampire (by the parents of a victim who was turned). Very classy, very calm, until the vampire figures out he's on the chopping block. And then all heck breaks loose, Clive (the ghost half of the team) has to manifest (do the ghost thing, he calls it) and is nearly lost (and I show how Jabari pays Clive which involves a Buddhist monestary). It also involves a book (which I think becomes the novel search/action). It's one of those partials I started and just haven't gotten back to, yet. I really do like Jabari and Ms. Kaliska.

If I didn't tell you before, I really liked Jabari. I think he would lend himself very well to a novel.
