Return to rejection and scary encounter

Well, Coyote Wild has rejected my haiku submission as not right for their market, fair enough. So now I need to find another poetry market, maybe submit it to Andromeda Spaceways. So a little bit of a downer going into the writers weekend. But the editor did wish me good luck with it, so props there.

In other news, at the library I was looking for Halloween Sound Effects. Well, I was looking for audio books and also wanted to check out sound effects. That's when I found the Martha Stewart Living Spooky Scary Sounds for Halloween. Ayiee! Run, run for your lives. (okay, well, I've only listed to a little and it's pretty good.)

So is it Martha going, "I didn't do it!!!"

...Sorry. Had to say that.

Sorry 'bout the recent haiku disappointment, but you'll get there. Hang tough.

I've only listened to a little, but already I feel this need to go to KMart and buy MSL products. I don't know why.

With the haiku, I thought it maybe a tough sell there.

I find poetry a tough sell anywhere. Way tougher than fiction. I'm not sure practice actually makes perfect, but persistence makes published.

Oh, and at least for haiku, there are markets dedicated just to the form, such as Frogpond,Bottle Rockets, or Mayfly.

I know nothing about Haiku form or the particular markets above. If your piece is speculative in nature, there are a few links on the SFWA links page to paying markets for speculative haiku, too.

Camille, yes it's very much on the speculative side, dealing with generation star-ships. Thanks for th etips on markets. Right now it's at ideomancer. If they don't take it I'll go looking where you pointed. Thanks.
