I watch the ripples change their size
But never leave the stream
Of warm impermanence
And so the days float through my eyes
But still the days seem the same
And these children that you spit on
As they try to change their worlds
Are immune to your consultations
They're quite aware of what they're goin' through

I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity

A little early, but because blogging at work is verboten (at least for the moment), happy 200th birthday Edgar Allen Poe (January 19, 1809)

I own his complete works in one giant book. In junior high I did "The Telltale Heart" at speech contests. Never won anything, but I loved doing it.

I read a lot of his stuff when I was younger, it's still affecting me.

It was a good day all around, Camille, with all the different celebrations. I hope you had a good one as well.
