Sometimes those gremlins form up and make a concerted assualt. If it can happen to Jay Lake, it can happen to the rest of us. The best answer when the gremlin chorus grows to that strength, though, is to work through them. Sort of how you work through targets.
Anyway, for the benefit of the writers out there, even Jay Lake gets those moments. So the rest of us shouldn't feel bad about them. They're normal. It passes.

Steve, thanks for pointing to this. It was enough to get me to post a comment, even though I've been scared to post lest you feel the need to send me handsome hand-crafted items.
Well, Camille, technically you need to respond to that other post, and then also make the offer on your own blog for that offer.
And I was thinking about your "blahs" issue when I posted a link to Jay Lake. If Jay can feel his mediocracy, the rest of us "lesser luminaries" are certainly entitled to our own version of them (of course once I win over the same buzz Mr. Lake has all those blahs will go away, right?).
I think everybody gets it, they just don't all blog about it. I try to keep it under wraps, but you guys are too perceptive for me.
And yes: All things pass eventually, including ourselves from this green Earth.
