I watch the ripples change their size
But never leave the stream
Of warm impermanence
And so the days float through my eyes
But still the days seem the same
And these children that you spit on
As they try to change their worlds
Are immune to your consultations
They're quite aware of what they're goin' through

War Stories off to the Dark Wisdom

Aftyer querying about the length, My Favorite War Stories is off to the Dark Wisdom. If they don't like it, I'll have to kill my darling at the begining, rewrite the intro, and then find somewhere else to send it to.

Yesterday I had a critique of my flash piece, Interview. That title will change. People for the most part were positive about it. I'm workiing on putting all the edits together, and then off to someplace that does flash (flashquake was proposed by Mer way back when).

You're such a natural at evocative wordsmithery in short form with poetry.

I'm sure you'll hit with flash.

Oh, and I meant to mention that Dark Wisdom sounds like the right market for Cthulhu-esque fiction.

Yes, I love the Dark Wisdom title. IIRC it used to be the Book of Dark Wisdom, which, IMHO, is much better, more evocative. DW has "reading times" so I couldn't send to it this summer, but the reading season is open now. Every cover I've seen from them is some Cthulhu-esque looking things. As someone who giggled now that I can get my old Lovecraft paperbacks out of a box and on the shelf again, that was a big drawl for my submission. And I'm glad they let me send in a longer story than what they normally prefer (always query first).
